Southwest Conservation Corps (SCC) is a non-profit employment, job training, and education organization with locations in Tucson, as well as Durango and Alamosa, Colorado. Students 16 years and older can be hired for Front Country Conservation Crews, earning approximately $250.00 a week with all food, tents, and equipment provide. There is no experience required.

Sheri Smith is a licensed massage therapist and a nail technician in Tucson. She works at a local Spa, and has her own business. Sheri discusses the training needed to prepare for these career fields as well as the health benefits of massage.

Ferrie Bailey is the Regional Recruitment Coordinator for Arizona. She discusses the benefits of becoming an employee with Union Pacific Railroad. She also shares the importance of "selling yourself" in the interview process and using the skills you are taught in school to succeed.

Chef Moussa is the head Chef at Skyline CountryClub. He discusses the career field of Culinary Arts and how to become a chef. Also presenting is Chef Duran from Pima Community College. He discusses the differences between an apprenticeship and a Culinary Arts school. Also present is a student who works with Chef Moussa and will be an apprentice in the summer.

Patio Pools offers careers in pool plastering, electical, plumbing, pool repair, artificial rock, and office management. If you are interested, contact John Torre at 886-1211 Ext. 1605.

TEP will pay for the 1st year of training at Pima Community College! Students can then be hired at $15.54 for a paid internship with Southwest Energy Solutions to learn the various jobs within TEP. After completing this internship, students can then apply for a pre-apprenticeship at TEP starting at $17-$19 an hour, working up to full apprenticeship which pays over $30 an hour!

 Arizona Builder's Alliance offers training in construction trades two evenings a week while working in the field. Careers include carpentry, sheet metal, pipe fitting, welding, electrician, and AC/HVAC installation and repair.
